Information about the service fees at nextbike
Incurring fee in the amount of 1 €
You have returned the bike in the flex zone of Düsseldorf, marked in yellow on the location map. For this, a surcharge of 1 € per rental is normally charged. At stations and within the non-coloured coloured zone, the return is possible without surcharge.
You can view incurred fees in the rental history in your app or in your customer account via the website login. You can view incurred fees in the borrowing history in your app or in your customer account via the website login. Furthermore, you can view all prices and rates for the nextbike under “Tariffs”.
Incurring fee in the amount of 20 €
You have returned the bike improperly outside the flex zone of Düsseldorf. A fee of 20 € per rental is due for this. At the first improper return outside the Flexzone we do not charge this yet. In case of repetition, the fee will be charged automatically.
You can still avoid the fee: Go back to the bike and rent it again. Do not do this remotely, as the lock will open automatically. The new rental will be merged with the old one and the improper return fee will be erased if you now return the bike properly.

Which return options are there in Düsseldorf?
Bikes may not be parked away from official stations outside Düsseldorf’s Flexzone. A fee of at least 20 € will automatically be charged for improper returns.
At stations
You can return our bikes in Düsseldorf at no extra charge at any official station inside and outside the Flexzone. The stations are partly virtual, i.e. the locations are marked on the map with large markers, but there are no station signs on site everywhere. The small markers represent individual bikes. Please make sure to park your bike so that it does not obstruct anyone.
In non-coloured zones
You can return our bikes in Düsseldorf at no extra charge on any street marked in no-colour within the Flexzone. Please make sure that you park your bike in such a way that it does not obstruct anyone.
In yellow marked zones
You can return our bikes in Düsseldorf for an extra €1 on any public street within the yellow flex zone. Please make sure to park your bike in such a way that it does not obstruct anyone.
Unjust fees? What now?
Due to slight GPS deviations, you may be charged a fee for inproper return even though you returned your bike at a station. No problem. Contact our hotline at +49 (0) 30 69205046 or send us a message via app with your registered mobile phone number, respective bike number and a short description of the problem. We will correct the rental.
